In April 2023 the time had finally come! Jay and Nadine turned their passion into their profession and founded the Secret Garden Yoga Studio together. The Vinyasa Flow lessons offered are suitable for everyone, as the yogis are offered different levels of difficulty. The yoga class can be adapted to the needs of the student, depending on their comfort and ability that day. The lessons follow a slower pace, so that in addition to clean movements through the asanas, there is also enough room to breath. Twice a week, you can discover the feeling of weightlessness in the yoga hammock. Aerial Yoga is a lot of fun and is good for the spine. For beginners in the yoga cloth, we have a Beginner Aerial Workshop twice a month, just take a look at the Calendar.

Nadine

Nadine is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher who completed her first teacher training in summer 2019. She then earned her SUP Yoga certification, followed by training as a Yin Yoga teacher and, in spring 2022, became an Aerial Yoga teacher. She has taught in various yoga studios and fitness centers in Basel before cofounding Secret Garden Yoga Studio in 2023. The focus in her classes is entirely on the yogis. Her yoga classes offer participants the freedom to choose their intentions and practice according to them. At each Vinyasa Flow class, the yogis invite you to explore a new topic together. If you don't like this, you can focus entirely on your body and become stronger and more flexible with the help of the different exercises. Yoga offers the participants a practice to become more resilient, both physically and mentally. Nadine teaches in both German and English.

Jeremiah is an American expat who has lived all over the world, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His love for travel took him to the sunny shores of a small island called Koh Lanta off the coast of Krabi, Thailand. There, he met the love of his life, Nadine. Due to the world-changing events surrounding COVID-19, they unfortunately found themselves torn apart. Jeremiah had already been practicing yoga for over ten years but, as a way to center himself and help work through the struggles of such an uncertain time, he turned to his yoga with much more conviction. He is currently working towards a Yoga Alliance accredited certification. You are likely to see his smiling face in or around class as he works on much of the admin tasks in the background as well as assists with classes until he finishes his course. After that, we’ll update this page, and you will be able to take classes with him that are primarily taught in English.

Herbert hat sein 200h Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training im Winter 2022/23 absolviert. Er ist begeisterter Sportler und verbringt seine Freizeit gerne mit Joggen, Mountainbiken, Bergtouren, Bouldern oder Skifahren. Vor mehreren Jahren hat ihn eine Knieverletzung zum Yoga gebracht, welches er seither regelmässig praktiziert. Er durfte die Erfahrung machen welch positiven Beitrag eine regelmässige Yogapraxis als Ausgleich zum Sport leisten kann. Diese Erfahrung möchte er nun gerne als Yogalehrer weitergeben.

Seine Yogastunden bestehen aus einem energetisierenden Vinyasa-Flow. Spielerisch werden Übungen zur Förderung von Flexibilität und Stärkung der Muskulatur eingebaut. Eine gute Balance und Körperspannung sind Grundlage für den Schutz unseres Körpers vor Alltagsbelastung sowie der Schmerz- und Unfallprävention im Sport. Manchmal werden auch herausfordernde Peakposen geübt, wobei weniger die Perfektion im Fokus steht sondern das Üben und Erfahren. Seine Stunden bettet Herbert gerne in einen thematischen Rahmen, welcher einen Impuls zum Nachdenken und ‘Mitnehmen’ in den Alltag anbietet. Ihr Unterricht wird hauptsächlich auf Deutsch angeboten.
